day 309: What a fantastic day! Jean drove all the way out from Houston so that she could hang out with Tara and I (and all the fam of course). I was so excited to see her since it's been forever since we've gotten together. I made her get in front of my camera for a few minutes, even though it was freezing outside. Thanks Jean! It was so fabulous to see you and I definitely need to schedule my next trip to visit you. After Jean left we went to my cousin's wedding and reception. It was such a beautiful wedding and I was sad that I didn't get to take more photos, but I wanted to stay out of the way of the hired photographer :) I did however take a couple of shots of the family, and of some dancing. I got this one towards the end of the night and I think it's so sweet! Daddy's (and mommy's) little girl! Congratulations Eric & Emily!
day 308: On Friday night we attended my cousin's wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Little did my mom and Tara know they'd be put to work tying bows on the pews. They did a fabulous job and all the bows looked lovely. I was too busy taking pictures to help :)
day 307: I just got home from a gorgeous wedding at the Parker Meridian in Palm Springs. I'm totally exhausted and going to get on a flight tomorrow morning to Dallas (the craziness never ends) I may not be able to post any photos for the next few days, but I will be back with photos on Monday at the latest!
Day 306: Yesterday afternoon Crissy and I drove out to Palm Springs to get ready for the wedding that we shot there today. We had all of our equipment lying around so what better time to try out random fun things.... like remote flash backlighting. This picture is ridiculous. But I still like it.
day 305 : Ben and I have had two delicious meals in a row, thanks to our friend Jill, who suggested we go to a tasty vegan restaurant last night, and because Ben forgot his camera in her car, we met up again for lunch so he could get it back :) Today we went to Cafe Bolivar in Santa Monica, which was so unbelievably tasty and affordable we will be going back many a time for sure. Take a look at the delicious arepas!
day 304: Well after the post yesterday Allison seemed to be concerned that she looked strange making that face :) Just to prove that my sister is indeed a very pretty girl, here's another (more flattering) shot of her from Disneyland yesterday evening. And my photo for the day... it's been a while since I posted a self portrait so here you go. So much for the one self portrait a month :)
day 303: What happens when you carry your camera with you everywhere you go for an entire year, snapping photos of your same friends and family members? Eventually they start making faces at you in hopes that you will not take their picture. Here are two examples of "the face". Nice guys. But I'm still going to take your picture :)
To be perfectly honest, I didn't come up with this idea. I read it on a fantastic website called photojojo. Although I guess that doesn't really answer the whole question.
I've always loved photos, loved taking photos, and loved looking at them as well. I always take photos on vacation but I haven't always taken as many "daily life" photos as I would like. My hope is that in the process of taking 365 consecutive photos I'll learn something new about photography, my camera, and myself.
It's a big endeavor so wish me luck, and feel free to leave me a comment if you love (or hate) any particular photo. I'm always up for a little feedback.
Enjoy!
